Exclusive technologies not available in other brands
expand_more

While Apple tends to focus on refining and incrementally improving existing features, Samsung pushes boundaries with innovations like:

  • Foldable phones that offer larger screen sizes
  • Built-in stylus (pen)
  • Higher megapixel counts in cameras
  • Advanced generative AI features, such as Generative Edit (moving or deleting objects in images) and Sketch to Image (transforming simple drawings into artwork).

While cutting-edge technologies are used only occasionally, we constantly interact with our smartphones and their operating systems throughout the day. Therefore, style should be given more weight than advanced tech features when choosing a smartphone.

Customization and flexibility

Samsung’s Android operating system offers extensive customization options, allowing users to personalize their devices more freely than Apple’s iOS, which is known for its restrictive environment.

Customization brings complexity

The extensive customization options on Samsung devices can lead to a more complex user experience, which may not appeal to all users.

Strong global presence
expand_more

Samsung has a strong global presence, being the leading smartphone brand in many regions, including Europe, Latin America, and parts of Asia.

Among other advantages, Samsung users may face fewer issues with region-specific apps compared to iPhone users who might encounter difficulties when traveling. (One workaround for Apple users is to create multiple Apple IDs, but this requires extra effort.)

Smartphone decisions should not be based on travel convenience, as most of our time is spent in our home countries.

Integration with other Samsung products

Samsung smartphones integrate well with other Samsung products, such as smart TVs, home appliances, and wearables, creating a cohesive ecosystem that enhances the user experience.

Less seamless integration than Apple's

Although Samsung’s ecosystem is extensive, it lacks the seamless integration found in Apple’s ecosystem.

High-quality displays
expand_more

Samsung is renowned for its high-quality displays, including Super AMOLED technology known for vibrant colors, deep blacks, and high brightness. This makes Samsung phones particularly appealing to media consumers and gamers.

While this advantage may have once led to increased battery consumption, Samsung's recent improvements in battery life have rendered this concern outdated.

Despite Samsung’s impressive display technology, iPhone screens offer a uniquely sharp resolution that outperforms other brands. Although iPhone OLEDs are manufactured by Samsung (Ref 1, Ref 2), the iPhone's display somehow demonstrates superior sharpness and clarity. A side-by-side comparison can highlight this difference.

Wide range of smartphones for every budget
expand_more

Samsung offers a diverse range of smartphones, from budget-friendly models to premium devices like the Galaxy S series, catering to a broad audience.

Some people believe Samsung deliberately omits certain features from its mid-range models to encourage customers to choose its flagship models.
